We collect your personal information in order to:
- Provide secure access to the Digital Identity 101 chatbot
- Verify your identity through email-based authentication
- Understand user interest in digital identity topics
- Contact you for follow-up discussions if you consent
Who We Share Information With
Besides our staff, we share this information with trusted service providers to make the chatbot function:
- Supabase - for secure user authentication and contact preference storage
- tinfoil.sh - for cryptographically secure AI-powered chat responses with hardware-level privacy verification (visit tinfoil.sh to learn about their cutting-edge security infrastructure)
- Nomic Atlas - for document search and retrieval
- Vercel - for web application hosting and delivery
Note: If we had the option, we would store all data in New Zealand and use only fully private, open-source large language models.
Data Storage and Security
We keep your information safe by following industry standard practices and restricting access to it. Your data is protected through:
- Encrypted data transmission and storage
- Access controls limiting who can view your information
- Regular security updates and monitoring
- Minimal data collection - we only collect what's necessary
Data Retention
We keep your information for no more than six months, at which point we securely destroy it by deleting it from our systems.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you
- Ask for your information to be corrected if you think it is wrong
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Withdraw consent for follow-up contact at any time
Providing your email address is required for access. If you choose not to provide it, we'll be unable to give you access to the chatbot.
